Dental Implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that can be placed in the jaw to support a crown, bridge or denture, depending upon the number of missing teeth.

Dental implants are an ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to decay, gum (periodontal) disease, an injury or some other reason.

Dental implants are made to look and feel so natural that you may forget you ever lost a tooth.

They can be used to restore all missing teeth from the age of 18, or once the jaw bones have stopped growing.

They are also very versatile:

• They can replace single teeth.
• Multiple fixtures (the part in the jaw) can be linked to form the support for a bridge to replace many missing teeth.
• Multiple fixtures can be used to provide support for dentures, meaning that a loose denture would “clip” into place and would no longer move around.

Dr Ross Cutts B.D.S trained at Guy's & St Thomas' hospital and has developed a special interest in implantology.

Ross uses both Straumann and Ankylos Implant systems, which are both clinically proven to provide excellent functional and aesthetic results over a very long period of time.

For those less than ideal cases, Ross can offer both guided bone regeneration techniques including the use of GTR membranes and a variety of bone grafting techniques including sinus augmentation.
